Indiana’s electric cooperatives and their statewide magazine, Indiana Connection, invite Indiana K-12 students to enter the Cooperative Calendar of Student Art Contest.Each month of the calendar and its cover correlates with a grade level. Kindergartners enter artwork for the cover of the calendar, first graders submit artwork to illustrate January, second graders depict February, and so on, with high school seniors illustrating December.
A first-place artist will be selected for each grade, K-12, and will receive $200. Additional artists will earn honorable mention awards and receive $75. These works also will appear in the calendar.
Artwork will be judged on artistic merit, originality, creativity, and its suitability for a wall calendar. Indiana public, private or home-schooled students in kindergarten through 12th grade during the 2023-24 school year are eligible.
“We are proud to be a part of recognizing and showcasing the artistic talents of our youth,” said Mandy Saucerman, Communications Director at Boone REMC.
The 2025 wall calendar will be available at the offices of participating Indiana electric cooperatives in autumn 2024. A few copies of the 2024 art calendar are still available in the Boone REMC lobby.
