An order issued on Sept. 26 stated that due to the substantial public interest and media attention expected during the trial, the Court motioned to “ensure the integrity of the proceedings, to protect the Defendant’s constitutional rights for due process, to ensure the safety of the parties and the public, and to permit public access to criminal proceedings” by setting rules for the jury selection set from today through Wednesday, Oct. 16 in the Allen Superior Court. All entrances except for the entrance on the east side of the building are locked during the selection phase with no access to the public for the remaining entrances, all members of the public, including media, are subject to screening by metal detectors, all bags entering the building are subject to search, no weapons are permitted in the building aside from those possessed by on-duty law enforcement officers, electronic devices are not permitted in the building with violations being subject to seizure and destruction and cameras, electronics and other recording equipment is not permitted.
