Joyce L. (Carney) Cerbone

Joyce L. Cerbone, 69, of Frankfort, passed away January 1, 2025, at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital.  She was born April 20, 1955, in Frankfort to Artus and Patricia Ann (Randolph) Carney.  She married Charles Cerbone on April 8, 1972, and he survives.

Joyce attended Clinton Central High School.  She worked many different jobs around town, last being at Wal-Mart, where she retired in 2022.  She attended Rise Church in Indianapolis.  She enjoyed watching Colts football, playing cards and “dicie,” fishing, and cooking.  But her heart was always with her family, and spending time with her family was most precious to her.  She was a strong-willed woman that would never quit.  She always made the best of every situation.  And she will be missed for many things, but her laugh may be one of the things that will be missed the most.

Along with her husband of 52 years, she is survived by her children, Tony Cerbone, Steven (Lisa) Cerbone, Patricia (Pamela) Cerbone, and Mark (Jessica) Eavey; siblings, Carolyn (Kevin) Lewis and Artus (Annette) Carney; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Teresa Shrock, Marilyn Eavey, and Richard Carney; daughter-in-law, Angela Cerbone; grandson, Ashton Hall; granddaughter, Celeste Cerbone; a niece, Berniece Powers; and a nephew, Jack Shrock.

Visitation will be held, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 4-7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9 at 11am at the funeral home.  Steve Cannon will officiate.  Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s honor the Clinton County Humane Society.  Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
