John F. Geis, 58, of rural Frankfort, passed away September 29, 2026 at Community North Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born December 24, 1967 to Alfred F. and Shirley L. (Dicus) Geis in Greensburg, Indiana. He married Michella R. Brown on September 27, 2008 in Frankfort, Indiana and she survives.
John grew up in Greensburg, Indiana and later moved to Michigan and also Paragon, Indiana before coming to Clinton County in 2000. John was a 1986 graduate of Greensburg High School and earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Purdue University in 1990 in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a maintenance manager and engineer at Federal Mogul/Tenneco for over thirty years. Upon retiring he worked at the TruLand John Deere Dealership in Frankfort. John also farmed. He was a family man who cherished spending time with his wife and his boys and grandsons, as well as everyone around him that he loved. In addition to farming, John enjoyed woodworking and working on cars and machinery. He loved attending auctions and being outdoors working in his barn. He was often found around his grill cooking and smoking meat. John attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Frankfort.
Surviving are: his wife, Michella; his sons, Kyle (Taylor) Mooneyhan of Morrow, Ohio, Trent (fiancé Haley) Mooneyhan of Kokomo, Indiana, and Grant Geis of Frankfort; his mother, Shirley Heger of Greensburg; his grandsons Kolton and Ryler; his brother, Joe (Susan) Geis of Greensburg; his sisters, Karen (Reuben) Lomax of Columbus, Indiana, Donna (Hank) Carson of Heltonville, Indiana, Sue Fixmer of Greensburg, Mary Ann Geis of Greensburg, and Debbie (Brett) Burton of Greensburg; his sister-in-law, Karen Jones of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; and his godsons, Adam Fullenkamp of Osgood, Indiana and Robbie Geis of Colorado.
John was preceded in death by: his father, Alfred; his step-dad, Robert A. Heger; and his brother, Robert L. Geis.
Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 6 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7.
