John E. Kirkpatrick, 81, of Cutler, IN, passed away on March 10, 2025 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. He was born July 1, 1943 in Kewanna, Indiana to John M. & Alice L. (Mitchell) Kirkpatrick.
John was a 1961 graduate of Fort Wayne Northside, a 1964 graduate of Indiana Central University and received his Masters degree at Indiana University South Bend. An elementary teacher, he taught at South Bend Community School Corporation, retiring in 2003. He then worked as a para professional at Thomas Miller Elementary School in Lafayette. John moved to Cutler in 2003 after his retirement. He was a member of the Bringhurst Community Church. John loved his horses and his dogs, watching westerns, being outdoors, and woodworking.
John is survived by his significant other, Sherry Hensley of Cutler, sons, Scott (Debbie) Kirkpatrick of South Bend, Matthew (Heidi) Kirkpatrick of South Bend, Benjamin Kirkpatrick of Bringhurst and daughter, Kelly (Michael) Broadstreet of South Bend, 2 brothers, 8 sisters, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Bringhurst Community Church, 1468 South 10 West, Bringhurst, IN 46913.
