Javier Lopez Santos, 78, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born June 30, 1947, in Tarandacuao, Guanajuato, Mexico to David Lopez and Felisa Santos. He married Teresa Sandoval. She preceded him in passing
Javier was a hardworking man. He worked in construction and then warehouse work in Lebanon before retiring in 2010. He was of the Catholic Faith and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort. He enjoyed working in his garden, going out shopping at Goodwill and garage sales. He loved hanging out with his friends and family. His joy and love of life was infectious, and it will be missed by those that knew him.
He is survived by his sons Heriberto (Flora Valdes) Lopez Sandoval, Oscar (Patricia Lopez) Lopez Sandoval, Sandro Lopez Sandoval; three brothers; and grandchildren, Erik Lopez, Huriel Lopez, Kaylee Lopez, Oscar Lopez, and David Lopez.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in passing by his parents, two brothers, three sisters.
There will be no local services. Services will be held with family back in Mexico. Day & Genda Funeral Home will be assisting the family with arrangements. Javier López Santos, de 78 años, de Frankfort, falleció el jueves 18 de diciembre de 2025 en el Hospital IU Health Arnett de Lafayette. Nació el 30 de junio de 1947 en Tarandacuao, Guanajuato, México, hijo de David López y Felisa Santos. Se casó con Teresa Sandoval. Ella le precedió de pasada.
Javier era un hombre trabajador. Trabajó en construcción y luego en almacenes en Lebanon antes de jubilarse en 2010. Era de fe católica y asistía a la iglesia católica de Santa María en Frankfurt. Le gustaba trabajar en su jardín, salir de compras a Goodwill y en mercadillos. Le encantaba pasar el rato con sus amigos y familia. Su alegría y amor por la vida eran contagiosos, y los echarán de menos quienes le conocieron.
Le sobreviven sus hijos Heriberto (Flora Valdés) López Sandoval, Oscar (Patricia López) López Sandoval y Sandro López Sandóval; tres hermanos; y nietos, Erik Lopez, Huriel Lopez, Kaylee Lopez, Oscar Lopez y David Lopez.
Junto con su esposa, le precedieron de paso sus padres, dos hermanos y tres hermanas.
No habrá servicios locales. Los servicios se celebrarán con la familia en México. Day & Genda Funeral Home asistirá a la familia con los preparativos.
