Janet L. Conner, 89, of Frankfort, Ind., passed away December 19, 2025 in her home.  She was born on February 6, 1936 in Burlington, Indiana to Floyd E. and Florence (Robison) Tribbett.  She married Neil Wayne Conner on June 20, 1954 and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2024.

Janet was a 1954 graduate of Frankfort High School and was the Center Township Assessor 1984-1998 and served on the Clinton County Council 1999-2006, being the first woman elected to the county council.  She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and taught Junior Church and adult Sunday school.  She was a member of the Clinton County Republican Women’s Club, serving as precinct vice chairman for many years.  Janet was on the Executive Board of Community Corrections and Wrap-Around Program, which she helped implement in 2000.  Other memberships included past Vice-President of Zonta, past Treasurer of Friends of the Manor, 1958 National President of Delta Gamma Delta Sorority, 1975 Past President of Delta Sigma Kappa, and a life member of Clinton County Historical Society.  Janet loved her family and their many sports activities, friends, church, and serving her community in many ways.

Surviving are her son: Rick Conner of Frankfort, daughter-in-law: Barbara Conner of Lebanon, granddaughters: Amber (Dustin) Coonrod, Melinda (Ryan) Eli, Kristin (Aaron) Eli, Danielle Conner (Fiance: Rhett Davis), Valerie Daughtery and Heather Grant, great-grandchildren: Tyler, Tristyn, Trinity, Jordyn, Cole, Alicia, Whitney, Hailey, Ryker, Bryce, Brooks, Addilyn, Blaire, and Rhyder, along with her sister: Sharon (Jerry) Tipps of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons: Michael Conner and Russ Conner.

It was Janet’s choice to be cremated and have a Celebration of Life.  The Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort.  Friends may visit from Noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  A Graveside Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in Green Lawn Memorial Park.  Memorial donations may be in Janet’s honor to the Clinton County Historical Society, 301 East Clinton Street, Frankfort, IN 46041.  Please visit archerweston.com, where you may share a message with the family.
