James C. “JC” Harshman, 79, of West Lafayette, formerly of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 30, 1945, in Frankfort to William and Geneva (Humes) Harshman. He married Carol Webster who preceded him in passing in 2015. He married Joetta Bosworth Beets on October 19, 2019, and she survives.
JC was a 1964 graduate of Logansport High School. He worked in Las Vegas at several casinos for over 50 years. He enjoyed golfing, playing in poker tournaments, shooting black powder muzzle loaders, going on cruises, and wintering in Arizona
Along with his wife, JC is survived by his stepsons, Paul Joseph (Bri) Beets and Scott Edward (Janara) Beets; sisters, Lois Johnston, Joanna Rainwater, and Dora (GW) Malm; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his first wife he was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel. Pastor Gary Osborne will officiate with burial to follow at Ball Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in JC’s honor to the White Horse Christian Center Missionaries.
