Indianapolis Woman Arrested In Colfax For A String Of Burglaries

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office reported an arrest of a woman who was preliminarily charged with burglary, robbery and more following a crash on I-65, reports show.

On Wednesday, Aug. 28, around 10 a.m., Clinton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were reportedly dispatched to the 5400-block of Colfax Manson Road for a report of an armed female entering multiple residences in the area, which led to Sgt. Thomas Pelling responding to confront the female.

According to authorities, the female was armed with two knives, and following a brief altercation, Pelling took the female into custody. During the investigation, authorities reported that the female had two juveniles with her during the incident, which led the responders to contact Clinton County DFS for assistance. The female’s vehicle was reportedly located crashed on I-65.

The Sheriff’s Office filed preliminary charges for Alisha Perez, 38, of Indianapolis, including burglary, Level 2 Felony, robbery, Level 3 Felony, resisting law enforcement resulting in injury, Level 6 Felony, intimidation, Level 6 Felony, and theft, Class A Misdemeanor.

“We have recovered items we suspect are from unreported burglaries,” the Sheriff’s Office released. “If you discover items missing from your property … please contact Detective Mark Pinkard at 765-659-6393 extension 2215 or mpinkard@clintonco.com.”

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office stated that it was assisted by Clinton County Central Dispatch, Clinton County EMS, Clinton County DFS, Indiana State Police, Colfax Police Department and Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department.

The Sheriff’s Office stated that official charges are pending review by the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
