The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced a temporary road closure of the Interstate 65 northbound exit ramp at State Road 38 near Dayton set to begin in July.
The closure, set for exit 168 on Interstate 65 northbound, will begin on or after Monday, July 8 where crews will close the ramp to restore the pavement. The department stated that the construction currently occurring on the southbound exit ramp is expected to conclude before the closure of the northbound ramp.
The closure is expected to be in effect for 24-hours a day from July 8 through early September. The official detour around the closure will be for drivers to travel along State Road 26 to Veterans Memorial Parkway to State Road 38.
The department released a reminder for drivers to utilize caution when passing through work zones, such as avoiding distracted driving and speeding to avoid injury for the construction crew and ease the process of restoring the pavement.
