Downtown Lafayette will come alive with holiday cheer on Saturday, December 7, as the community gathers for a special holiday farmers’ market and the annual Greater Lafayette Christmas Parade—Indiana’s largest.
The parade, themed “A Very Merry Main Street,” begins at 5:30 p.m. and will feature approximately 150 entries including lighted floats, marching bands and Santa Claus. Starting at 11th Street and traveling west to 2nd Street, the event draws nearly 20,000 attendees annually,
making it the largest holiday parade in Indiana.
Earlier in the day, a holiday farmers’ market will take place in downtown Lafayette from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local vendors will offer seasonal produce, handcrafted goods and other holiday items, providing an opportunity for early gift shopping while supporting the region’s small businesses.
Organized by Greater Lafayette Commerce, both events are part of the organization’s mission to enhance the quality of life in Greater Lafayette. Admission to the parade and market is free and open to the public. For those unable to attend in person, the parade will be livestreamed on Greater Lafayette Commerce’s Facebook page.
