Gertie M. Quick, 93, of Michigantown, IN., died November 28, 2024 at Milner Community Health Care, Rossville. She was born September 16, 1931 in Jefferson, IN. to George & Edith (Kressley) Miller. She married Walter Lee
Quick Jr. on August 20, 1965 in Delphi, IN. and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2001.
Gertie was a 1951 graduate of Rossville High School and had lived in Clinton County her entire life. She worked at Woolsworth, Mallory’s, then retired from Delco in 1986 after 18 years. She then worked at Wal-Mart for 8 years. Gertie loved cooking, sewing and quilting and enjoyed giving away her quilts.
Gertie is survived by her daughter: Rita K. Martin of rural Michigantown, brothers: Bert Miller of Frankfort and John (Patsy) Miller of Lakeside, CA, 1 grandson, Derrick (Jennifer) Martin, great-grandchildren, Jacob Abbott, Taylor Abbott, Aubrey Martin, Broc Martin and Cain Martin, great-great grandchildren, Lilah Abbott and Aislee Sanchez.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine, sons, Rick R. & Steven L. Martin, brothers, Paul, Dale and Jim Miller and sister, Mary Woodruff.
Funeral Service:
Visitation will be Noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
