Local choir students delivered an impressive performance during the first round of Solo & Ensemble competition, earning top honors across multiple categories and continuing their success at the state level.
In the opening round, choir members received 13 gold-rated solos, two silver-rated solos, one gold large ensemble, and one gold small ensemble, showcasing the strength and depth of the program.
Eight students advanced to the State Solo & Ensemble competition, where the group achieved an extraordinary accomplishment — a clean sweep of gold medals.
Junior Joslyn Holmes advanced to state with a performance of the prestigious solo Into the Night, earning a gold rating for her performance.
Senior Anna Cari-Taylor also represented the program at state, performing the Italian art song Caro Mio Ben. In addition to earning a gold medal, she received distinguished scoring — a notable recognition for exceptional performance.
The school’s small ensemble also competed at state, performing the upbeat and rhythmically challenging piece Dance on My Heart. The ensemble earned a gold rating for their performance. Members of the group include Aubrey Plass, Jeavlyne Crain, Joslyn Holmes, Lilya Stewart, Marlana Giesler, and Ellie Perez.
The results reflect the dedication, preparation, and musical talent of the students, as well as the continued strength of the choir program. Their accomplishments at both the district and state levels highlight a year of hard work and musical excellence.
