The Frankfort Street Department announced that trash services will not run on Monday, Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day as numerous county, city, school and community entities close for the holiday.
The department stated that a double pickup will occur on Tuesday, Sept. 3 for both Monday and Tuesday routes, and community members are encouraged to set their trash carts out by 7 a.m. to ensure that it will be picked up Tuesday. Routes are expected to run differently due to the double pickup.
The department continued to state that administrative offices and the recycling center will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 for the holiday as well.
