The Community Schools of Frankfort Board of Education unanimously accepted the bids for the Frankfort Middle School renovation project Tuesday night that is going to have the school a big chunk of change so they can get some of the things they really wanted in the project.
“To come in in this market with increasing construction costs is nothing more than a blessing to come in $1.76 million under budget,” said Community Schools of Frankfort Superintendent Dr. Matt Rhoda. “That’s a testament to our architects and to Tecton.”
Rhoda talked some about some of the things that will now happen.
“The big one was getting the walkway that is up in the wrestling area,” said Rhoda. “That’s about $200,000 to put a walkway in and a roof over it. That will give access to three additional classrooms upstairs and those classrooms come in around $1.3 million.”
Rhoda added this will allow them to move both the art and business classrooms upstairs.
