Frankfort Hot Dog Hall Of Fame Honorees Will Be Honored On July 27; Golf Scramble Sign Ups Due July 1 For Free T-Shirt

The Frankfort Hot Dog Hall of Fame has released more information regarding its Hot Dog Hall of Fame honorees for 2024 and the golf scramble to benefit the Hall of Fame.

This year, the Frankfort Hot Dog Hall of Fame will be inducting eight honorees, including five alumni, two posthumous and one honorary inductee. The Seventh Annual Hot Dog Hall of Fame Awards will be presented at Frankfort High School on Saturday, July 27 at 4 p.m. in the cafeteria.

The five alumni being recognized are Jodi Skiles Commins, Michelle Guillon, Michael Kelley, Travis Kelley and Birdie Gunyon. The two posthumous alumni being recognized are Tom Rohrabaugh and Curt Day. The honorary honoree will be Jim Moyer.

Jodi Skiles Commins was recognized for her service as a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Riley Children’s Hospital. She is part of the class of 1997.

Michelle Guillon was recognized as the Director of Collections and Research for the National First Ladies Library. She is part of the class of 1979.

Michael Kelley was recognized as a Frankfort High School and Middle School educator, assistant principal and principal. He is part of the class of 1966.

Travis Kelley was recognized as a Marine Corps Fighter Pilot, and he is part of the class of 1991.

Birdie Gunyon was recognized as an internationally-known expert and speaker in perinatal health. She is part of the class of 1971.

Tom Rohrabaugh was recognized as the past President of The Farmers Bank, and he was part of the class of 1953.

Curt Day was recognized as a three-time horseshoe champion, and he has been further recognized in the community as the namesake of the Curt Day Horseshoe Courts in Frankfort at Dorner Park. He was part of the class of 1935.

Jim Moyer was recognized as a long-time educator at Frankfort High School alongside his continued impact in the Clinton County community.

The Fourth Annual Frankfort Alumni Hall of Fame Golf Outing that helps support the Frankfort Hot Dog Hall of Fame will be held at the Frankfort Commons Golf Course on Friday, July 26.

The golf scramble encouraged all former Frankfort Hot Dogs and friends of Hot Dogs to participate in a fundraiser designed to entertain and raise funds for the Hall of Fame. The golf scramble will kick off on Friday, July 26 with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. at the Frankfort Commons Golf Course.

The scramble requires an entry fee of $85 per player, and the entry fee will include lunch, prizes and the post-play cookout reception. Participants who register prior to July 1 will receive a free Hall of Fame t-shirt. Community members are encouraged to enter the scramble with their preferred foursome or enter individually to be placed with a team.

“All Hot Dogs are encouraged to enter, but there will be a strict 144 player limit,” the organization released. “Don’t play gold? Join us after for a casual Hall of Fame reception and introductions on the patio at Arborwood.”

For those interested in participating as a non-golfer, the reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with a $10 fee to attend for the non-golfers.
