Frankfort Farmers & Artisan Market Rebrands To The Frankfort Market; Market Kicks Off Tomorrow, Aug. 10

The Frankfort Market, a combined version of the former Frankfort Farmers and Artisan Market and the Frankfort Flea Market, will kick off its fall events tomorrow, Aug. 10 at Veterans Park for community members to explore handmade crafts, baked goods, fresh produce, antiques and more.

The market will kick off tomorrow, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veterans Park in Frankfort with handmade crafts, baked goods, fresh produce, antiques, collectables, garden items and much more available for the community to explore and purchase from local and regional vendors. No garage sale items will be permitted at the event.

On July 22, organizer MaryLynn Peter released a statement regarding the market, announcing the combination of the Frankfort Farmers and Artisan Market and the Frankfort Flea Market, stating that a lack of fresh produce and farmer-provided products led to the decision.

The Frankfort, Indiana Farmers and Artisan Market and the Frankfort Flea Market no longer exists. But wait, they don’t exist separately, but together. We will now be known as the Frankfort Market.

I have tried endlessly to get local farmers to participate, but they have chosen to go out of town to bigger markets, so Farmers has been removed from our name. However, the Meibeyers from the Tomato Patch will be at our market starting in August, so show them some love.

So, beginning Aug. 10, Artisans and Flea Market vendors will be able to set up together. No longer separated, shoppers will have a larger choice of vendors.

I’m really excited about this change and hope all of you are too.

The market will also feature food options from On the Go food truck throughout the event.

A donation bucket will also be set up at the Old Coot table to raise money for the winter market coming toward the winter months throughout the events.
