Flood Warning in Effect Until at Least Early Tuesday Morning for Area

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana and Illinois until 1 a.m. Tuesday morning — White River from Edwardsport to Hazleton, Wabash River from Lafayette to Riverton, East Fork White River at Seymour, Tippecanoe River near Delphi and Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.

Lowland flooding continues along much of the Wabash River, from Lafayette down to Riverton. There is potential for flooding to develop later in the week at Vincennes and Mount Carmel. The crest is past Lafayette and should reach Covington by mid-morning Monday. The rivers are rising at all locations and flooding may last as long as Tuesday, February 6.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded area.

A Flood Warning remains in effect until early Tuesday morning at the Wildcat Creek in Lafayette.

The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.5 feet tomorrow morning and then fall below flood stage.
