Carroll County Emergency Management announced that an excessive heat watch has been issued by the National Weather Service in Indianapolis for Boone, Carroll and Clinton counties alongside surrounding counties from yesterday through tomorrow, Aug. 27.
The service stated that an excessive heat watch has been issued for today, Monday, Aug. 26 through tomorrow, Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. for Boone, Carroll, Clinton, Warren, Tippecanoe, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Johnson, Sullivan and Greene counties.
The service stated that the watch is for potential dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 106 degrees possible throughout the days. The impact is stated to be extreme heat and humidity that will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
Carroll County Emergency Management released a statement for those who may be affected by the extreme heat indexes.
