The Delphi Opera House reflected upon the events and programs that were available for the community in 2024 with aspirations to continue providing programming for the community alongside the Delphi Preservation Society in 2025.
The two organizations stated that through working together, the organizations were able to continue providing educational and entertaining programming as well as promoting historic preservation.
2024 Highlights:
- Delphi Opera House was one of just three organizations to receive a Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging grant from the League of Historic Theaters. The grant allowed for the organization to work with the Latino community to offer a mental health fair in May and a Hispanic Heritage Festival in September with more planned events approaching in 2025.
- The organizations also highlighted the continuation of the popular Art Enrichment Program for Youth, which has now reached more than 300 students through classes in art, music and dance as well as the week-long drama camp. The ongoing support for the programs comes from the Carroll County Community Foundation as the organization continues planning for the programs in 2025.
- The organizations highlighted the three Red Brick Theatre productions, numerous concerts, shows, weddings, proms, meetings, art exhibits, tours and student field trips that reached thousands of patrons.
- The organizations also highlighted the Historic Home Tour in September that showcased some of Delphi’s most historic homes alongside a surprise location, the Interurban Apartments.
- During 2024, two residential districts were appointed to the National Register of Historic Places, including the South Hill Residential District and the Delphi Residential District.
- The organizations lastly highlighted the fourth annual Limelight Legacy Event that honored Delphi native Candi Pastor Harrison, who has written a dozen books about the history and people of Carroll County.
The Delphi Opera House stated that it looks forward to celebrating 2025 and the 10th anniversary of its grand opening. An event has been set to celebrate on March 22, noted as the Herald of Spring Ball, with tickets available at delphioperahouse.org.
