Day & Genda Funeral Home Adds Funeral Home With Crematories To Their Family Of Businesses

Day & Genda Funeral Home owner Pat Day announced that the business has welcomed the addition of a crematory for humans and a crematory for pets for the families that the business serves in Clinton and Carroll Counties.

Through the partnership with the Gundrum and Smith families, Day & Genda Funeral Home acquired ownership of Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory in Logansport.

Day described the transaction as an acquisition on paper with strong partnerships that allow for the business to expand the Day & Genda “family,” and the transaction allows for the business to keep loved ones in their care for the entire cremation process, no longer being required to utilize another company’s crematory with the addition of Gundrum Funeral Home.

“I couldn’t be happier to be joining forces with the Gundrum Family,” Day said. “My wife Tashia and I feel like this is the ideal scenario to continue to grow our family with like-minded people. We are excited to bring out services and community-minded involvement to Logansport and Cass County.”

Day continued to express his excitement at the opportunity to serve the families of Clinton and Carroll counties in an improved capacity.

“We are even more excited about the fact that we now have our own crematories that will allow the families we serve in Frankfort, Rossville, Mulberry and Flora to have peace in the proceedings,” Day said. “Their loved ones, human or furry family members, will now be in our care for the entire cremation journey. This is another way that we have been trying to continue to ‘put families first,’ and we are blessed to be able to now do this for all the families we serve. It is a bonus that three of our staff members already have their Crematory Operator Certification, making this transition more seamless.”

The Smith and Gundrum family are longtime owners and staff of the Logansport facility and will still be running the majority of the everyday operations for the funeral home, but the families are looking toward the future and spending more time with their family while they look toward retirement eventually.

The Gundrum facility will remain named and branded as the Gundrum Funeral Home, but Day and his team will be working with the Gundrums in the Logansport area on an ongoing basis.
