Dallas Wayne Meador, son of Robert J. & Bessie I. (Rule) Meador, was born March 28, 1929, near Cutler, Indiana. He passed away on May 6, 2024, at the age of 95.
On July 11, 1948, he accepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized and remained faithful until death. At the time of his death, he practiced his faith in the fellowship of the Old German Baptist Brethren, New Conference.
On October 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to Doris Marie Bowman. They started their married life on a farm near Cutler, Indiana, sharing their lives together for sixty-three years.
Dallas possessed a mild temperament using his abilities to help others with their spiritual and business needs. He practiced public accounting since 1958. He enjoyed listening and participating in singing.
He is survived by five children, Michael, wife Martha; Judith, husband Merle Flory; Mark, wife Karen; John, and Brent, wife Pamela; eleven grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Phyllis Meador, and brother-in-law, Benjamin Root; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was his wife, Doris, on September 18, 2013, and an infant son, David Eugene, in 1952. Also preceding were his parents, his brothers, Robert Lee and wife Betty, and Harold; and his sisters-in-law, Sarah Lee (David Switzer), Mary Jane Root, and Susan Bowman.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 3-5pm and 6-8pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Funeral service will be held Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 10am at Cutler Ridge New Conference Meeting House, located at 3521 S. State Road 75, Cutler, Indiana. Burial will follow at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Church Cemetery, southwest of Rossville.
