Crawfordsville Male Arrested for Stealing Polaris UTV in Boone County

At approximately 3:03 p.m. Sunday, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an auto theft that had just occurred. A Polaris UTV was reported stolen from the area of county road 800 North and 1050 West. The vehicle, owned by a local farmer, was parked in a field while the owner was working in his field on his tractor. The theft was witnessed by the owner, who observed a white male dressed in all black entering the Polaris and driving away.

Swift action by local law enforcement agencies led to the recovery of the stolen Polaris, found wrecked in a wood line near a creek in the area of 1200 West and State Road 32. Following a K9 track from the area, law enforcement located a white male matching the description walking along State Road 32, south of the crash site. The suspect, identified as Clarence Mcclure, 45, of Crawfordsville, was apprehended and taken into custody.

The owner has been reunited with his Polaris, thanks to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement. Mcclure was transported to the Boone County Jail on the following charges:
Felony 6- Theft
Felony 6- Auto Theft
A Misdemeanor- Resisting Law Enforcement
B Misdemeanor- Possession of Marijuana
C Misdemeanor- Possession of Paraphernalia
