Community Schools of Frankfort Seeking a New Frankfort High School Principal

Community Schools of Frankfort Superintendent Dr. Matt Rhoda said Tuesday night they are in the market for a new high school principal at Frankfort High School following the resignation principal Cindy Long effective at the end of the school year.

“It’s a loss to the district,” said Rhoda. “But we are also excited for her because she’s got an opportunity to go to IASP (Indiana Association of School Principals) and be the assistant director and work with lawmakers to be able to impact laws affect public education.”

Long has been in teaching for 23 years. She left to go to Western High School as an assistant principal for one year before returning to FHS. She has been back at the high school for six years.

Rhoda added they hope to have a replacement by May. They want Long to work with her replacement for a month before she leaves in July.

During the board meeting, the school board approved a new career pathway that will start next year. That pathway is Civic Arts.

“Pathways have to be connected to some career,” said Rhoda. “With this pathway, you could go into a business route or you could go into education and teach it. That’s a neat part of it where it is part of it to and its part of the criteria for it which you have to couple it with a career path.”

Rhoda added those career paths include education and business.
