The Community Foundation of Boone County has announced its receipt of a matching fund grant totaling $1.5 million as a part of the eighth phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow initiative.
The foundation announced that the funds will be utilized to enhance its established community grantmaking initiatives by addressing local unmet needs, identifying the root cause and building the operational endowment to ensure a lasting philanthropic impact. The foundation announced that its goal is to fundraise a total of $825,000 by Dec. 31, 2025.
The grant allows for donations to be tripled when they are dedicated to any current or new unrestricted community impact fund by matching $2 for every $1 gifted from the Endowment up to $675,000 total. The funds allow for the foundation to give back locally as the need arises, promote leadership training and development and act as a support system for the entire Boone County area.
The foundation announced that it is also in possession of $150,000 dedicated to matching $1 for every $1 donated to any current or new operational endowed fund. The funds are meant to secure the foundation’s ability to fulfill its mission and create a lasting impact in the community for many years into the future.
Community Foundation of Boone County CEO Julie Reagan expressed her excitement for the possibilities granted through the matching grant.
“We are extremely grateful to Lilly Endowment for their support at this exciting time of growth for our foundation and county,” Regan said. “CFBC is committed to fostering a healthier, welcoming and resilient community. We’re excited that this opportunity will amplify the positive change we seek to make in Boone County and, with the help of our generous community, team and board, we look forward to meeting the goal and expanding our impact.”
Community members may contribute to the funds online or in person to aid in the funding of the matching portion of the grant, and pledges will be accepted through Dec. 31, 2025.
