Clinton Central School Corporation Board Approves New Superintendent

The Clinton Central School Corporation board approved the hiring of a new superintendent for the 2024-2025 school year during a meeting held on June 17.

During the meeting, the board approved Levi Yowell as the new corporation superintendent with a date set for July 2024 for him to assume his new role in Clinton County.

Yowell is expected to join the Central community with 20 years of experience in education where he has served as a coach, teacher, assistant principal and principal, receiving accolades when he was named the 2022 Indiana Association of School Principals District 8 High School Principal of the Year.

“Mr. Yowell brings a wealth of experience, a passion for educational excellence and a deep commitment to the success of every student in our district,” the corporation released. “Levi is proud to be a public educator and relishes the opportunity to serve students, staff and the community through school leadership.”

The corporation released that as a school administrator, Yowell focuses on creating environments where people can be successful by removing obstacles, investing in students and staff and utilizing data to inform decision-making to ensure the best learning environment and aids are implemented at the school.

Yowell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Olivet Nazarene University, a Master’s Degree in Teaching from the University of Indianapolis, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Indianapolis, an Educational Specialist Degree from Indiana State University and a certification as an Indiana School Safety Specialist.

“Known for his high energy and passion for students, Levi is a staunch advocate for the opportunities that public education provides,” the corporation released. “Most importantly, Levi is committed to his faith and family.”

Yowell and his wife, Molly, who is also a public educator where she serves as a high school English teacher, live together with their two children, Tanner, 16, and Tate, 11.

Yowell commented that he looks forward to the opportunities available at Clinton Central as he infuses his wealth of knowledge and passion for the students into the leadership at the schools.

“I am honored to join the Clinton Central School Corporation and am eager to begin working with the talented educators, dedicated staff and engaged community members,” Yowell said. “Together, we will continue to build on the district’s strong foundation and strive for new heights of academic excellence and student success.”

The board would like to extend its gratitude to the selection committee for their thorough and thoughtful process in identifying the best candidate to lead our schools.

We also wish to thank our outgoing superintendent, Jeremy Fewell, for his dedication and leadership during this transition period.

A welcoming reception was held on June 17 immediately following the board meeting at 6 p.m. after Yowell’s contract garnered approval. The reception was held in the district office located in the high school.

During the board meeting, Shelby Lee was also approved and announced as the third teacher hired for the agriculture department.
