Clinton Central Girls Notch 16th Straight Win by Downing Sheridan 51-42

Clinton Central won its 16th straight contest Tuesday night with a 51-42 Hoosier Heartland Conference over visiting Sheridan in Michigantown.

The win gave the Lady Bulldogs their highest finish in the conference since 2001-2002 and it was only their second victory against Sheridan since 2010-2011. They also ended a three-game losing streak against the Blackhawks.

The game was tight throughout even though Central opened an 11-point lead shortly after halftime. Sheridan made a run and cut it to 36-29 after three.

Sheridan tied the game following a 7-0 run the fourth quarter. However, Central responded with eight straight points and Sheridan got no closer than five the remainder of the game.

Erica Robbins led Central, 21-1, with 17 points. Sara Parkison was next with 15.

Thursday night at home, Robbins had a team-high 22 points to pace the Lady Bulldogs to a 45-30 triumph over Rossville.

Frankfort Downs Central

Frankfort outscored Clinton Central 25-13 in the third quarter on its way to a 67-52 boys’ basketball victory over Clinton Central Saturday night at Case Arena.

With the win, the Hot Dogs are now 7-7 while Central fell to 1-11.

Amrin Barrett led Central with 17 points. Luke Davison added 12.

Rossville Falls to Seeger

Seeger outscored Rossville 17-10 in the fourth quarter for a 58-55 non-conference victory over the Hornets Saturday night in Rossville.

Jordan Skiles led Rossville with 15 points. Caden Wilson and Brayden Thiele-Hahn both had 14. Wilson had a team-high seven steals and Skiles grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
