The Clinton Central Bulldogs and Rossville Hornets split a basketball doubleheader on Hoosierland TV Friday night.
The Clinton Central girls won the opening game 59-43 and the Rossville boys took game two 64-44.
In the first game, a huge third quarter from the Bulldogs propelled them to a victory. After taking a 20-16 lead to the halftime break, they outscored Rossville 20-3 in the third quarter.
Carly Davison finished with 27 points and now sits three points shy of 1000 career points at Clinton Central. Davison was named The Farmers Bank Player of the Game. Abby Harris added 18 points, including four three-pointers for the Bulldogs.
Ava Burkle finished with a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double in the loss.
In the boys’ game, a second-quarter run by Clinton Central made it 29-27 Rossville at the half. In the third quarter, Rossville’s offense came to life and the Hornets went on a 20-7 run.
Brayden Thiele-Hahn finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds in the win and was named The Farmers Bank Player of the Game. Jordan Skiles added 15 points for Rossville.
Amrin Barrett and Creed Mennen both finished in double figures in the loss.
During the games, Rossville hosted Cancer Awareness night and donations were collected for a Clinton Central student who recently underwent surgery and underwent the initial rounds of chemotherapy. For those still interested in helping, contact the Rossville Athletic Department.
