Clinton, Boone Counties Battle Of The Badges On The Horizon In April

Frankfort Police Department secures victory in the 2023 Hoopin’ for a Cause.

Battle of the Badges events are quickly approaching in Clinton and Boone counties as engaging fundraising events featuring face-offs between police and fire departments.

The Clinton County Battle of the Badges will kick off on Sunday, April 28 at Frankfort High School at 1 p.m. with a basketball face-off between the Frankfort Police Department and Frankfort Fire Department.

After a cancellation of the event previously as a result of the pandemic, the event returned in 2022, raising just over $3,000 for local organizations, and the 2023 rendition sported similar numbers, raising around $2,500 for the Boys & Girls Club and Special Olympics. Last year’s event also featured a face-off between the Special Olympics basketball teams following the nail-biting battle of the badges.

The Whitestown Battle of the Badges 5K is also on the horizon, kicking off on Saturday, April 20 at 8 a.m. This year, the participants will race through Legacy Core and the Big 4 Trail. Currently, prices are lowered for early registrants, and prices will increase in the future as the date draws closer. Potential participants are encouraged to look toward registering as soon as possible at whitestown.in.gov/5K.
