Charles R. “CJ” Johnson, 8
3, lifelong Kirklin resident, died October 18, 2023 at Mulberry Health. He was born July 1, 1940 in Lebanon, Ind. to Clyde C. & Thelma (Evans) Johnson. He married Patrice E. Price Johnson on April 26, 1968 and she survives.
Charlie was a 1958 graduate of Kirklin High School and attended Indiana Business College for 2 years. He proudly served 6 years in the National Guard. He was a farmer and had worked for Allisons and retired from Rolls Royce in Indianapolis. Charlie was a member of the Kirklin American Legion Post 310. He was an avid squirrel hunter and fisherman.
Charlie is survived by his wife: Patrice E. Johnson of Frankfort, son: Brian S. (Kate) Johnson of Indianapolis, daughter: Lynn (David) Peterson of Goshen, sister: Kay Johnson of Sheridan, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a brother. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew R. Johnson in 2020.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be Monday, October 23, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Graveside services will follow the visitation at Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin, with Phil Lewis officiating.
