The students of Central Elementary School witnessed a heartwarming and historic moment on Friday when a long-time employee celebrated her wedding with Lebanon Community School Corporation.

On Friday, May 3, Central Elementary School hosted a unique, once-in-a-lifetime wedding ceremony for a beloved food service employee, Precilla Bates, now known as Precilla Bryant.

Bryant has reportedly been an integral part of the corporation since 2007 and has a deep connection with Central Elementary, which caused her to see the location as the perfect setting for her wedding to Wayne Bryant.

The ceremony took place against the scenic backdrop of the playground and saw over 60 students and their families attend to celebrate the happy couple, and Liam DeVol, a 4th-grade student at Central, proudly walked Bryant down the aisle while Gage Fields escorted her husband.

“Among the many heartwarming moments was when Chad Salsman, the officiant and LCSC Director of Exceptional Needs formerly the Assistant Principal at Central Elementary, asked who would be giving away the bride, and all 60 students stood behind Precilla, declaring in unison, ‘we do!’,” the corporation released. “As Precilla and Wayne exchanged vows and rings, the atmosphere was filled with love, joy, and celebration.”

Following the ceremony, Bryant expressed her deep gratitude to the Central Elementary community and the students and their families who made her last 17 years at the corporation worth the while.

“I couldn’t imagine not having all of you here with us today,” Bryant said. “This means so much to me.”

The wedding not only marked a significant personal milestone for the Bryants but also showcased the strong bonds within the family of the Lebanon Community School Corporation. Bryant’s impact on the community has been profound, and the celebration of her marriage at Central Elementary reflects the spirit of togetherness and support that defines the corporation.

“Congratulations to Precilla and Wayne Bryant on their beautiful union,” the corporation released.
