Carroll Schools Addresses PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident From January 2025

Carroll Consolidated School Corporation Superintendent Keith Thackery released a statement regarding the PowerSchool Cybersecurity incident that occurred earlier this year during the first few weeks of January, stating that PowerSchool informed the administration that its information was involved in the unauthorized acquisition of information.

Thackery stated that PowerSchool confirmed that data belonging to students and teachers within the district and across the country were impacted as a result of the incident, which included only general information, such as demographic data, that was compromised in the incident. In the coming weeks, Thackery stated that the corporation will notify all individuals who had their personal data, beyond general information, possibly impacted in connection to the incident in accordance with state law.

The notification letters will provide PowerSchool’s offer of two years of complimentary identity protection services through Experian. Enrollment must be completed by May 30.

PowerSchool has also coordinated with Experian to provide a toll-free Call Center for questions at 833-918-9464.
