Carroll Ensemble Advances To State In Historic Fashion; Four Soloists Advance As Well

Carroll High School announced that 24 Carroll Band students traveled to Twin Lakes High School for the District Solo and Ensemble Contest and participated in a total of 16 solos and seven ensembles, receiving 16 gold medals and seven silver medals over the 23 different events.

The group consisting of Santiago Rodriguez, Anna Unger, Andalynn Hayden and Dylan Heffley performed a saxophone quartet in Group I and received a gold rating, which will advance them to the State competition.

“This is a huge accomplishment for these musicians, as a Group I ensemble has not been attempted at Carroll for many, many years,” the school released.

The school further released that multiple soloists will advance to state, including Braidan Wood on flute, Dylan Heffley on clarinet and Santiago Rodriguez on alto saxophone.
