Card & Associates Announces Phase Two Plans For Hickory Junction In Lebanon

Noblesville-based developer and sports complex operator Card & Associates Athletic Facilities has announced its plans for the second phase of its 95-acre Hickory Junction development south of the intersection of Interstate 65 and State Road 39 in Lebanon, near the new The Farmers Bank Fieldhouse.

Last month, Lebanon Planning Director Ben Bontrager informed members of the Lebanon City Council that the developer was in the process of solidifying plans for 456 housing units and 64,000-square-feet of commercial, office and retail space at Hickory Junction, which is located just east of the $31 million The Farmers Bank Fieldhouse, which opened its doors in February as a part of the development’s first phase.

Bontrager informed the council that the second phase could feature 288 apartment and 168 single-family houses, and office and retail buildings are expected to be built along the interstate with residential buildings being built to the south of the area.

The second phase of Hickory Junction is expected to feature more than 450 housing units and 64,0000-square-feet of office space.

The 200,000-square-foot The Farmers Bank Fieldhouse at 505 S. SR 39, which is located just south of the Interstate 65 Exit 139, opened on Feb. 9 for the community to enjoy eight basketball courts, 12 pickleball courts, one turf field and pitching and hitting tunnels. Sports offered at the facility include baseball, basketball, football, pickleball, soccer and softball, and the facility announced its plans to add golf simulators to the weight room. Card & Associates also announced its selection of Indianapolis-based real estate developer The Ghoman Group to build two hotels, expecting a total of 300 rooms, at Hickory Junction, and the hotels are considered to be associated with the first phase of development in the area. The Ghoman Group stated that it plans to spend approximately $70 million to build the hotels, which will include a 100-room Fairfield Inn by Mariott. The brand of the second, larger hotel has not been reported, but it is expected to include a 30,000-square-foot conference center. Construction on the Fairfield Inn is reportedly slated to begin in mid-2025.

According to Card & Associates, Hickory Junction is expected to have a $75 million annual economic impact with an expected 35,000 hotel-room bookings and 1.5 million visitors per year. For more information, visit hickory-junction.com.
