Brendon Bright Files to Run for Clinton County Sheriff in 2026 Republican Primary

Brendon Bright officially filed Wednesday morning to run for Sheriff of Clinton County in the 2026 Republican Primary Election. A lifelong Rossville resident, Bright is running on a platform of character-driven leadership, professional law enforcement experience, and a strong commitment to serving the people of Clinton County.

Bright brings decades of law enforcement experience to the race. He previously served as Detective Captain with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office before retiring in 2020. He currently works as a full-time Investigator with the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office and serves as Town Marshal for Kirklin. Bright is a 1992 graduate of Purdue University and completed the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 2003.

“I’ve spent my career preparing for the responsibility of leading a Sheriff’s Office,” Bright said. “Experience matters, but so does character. I believe Clinton County deserves both.”

Bright and his wife, Carrie, have been married for 29 years and reside in Rossville, where they have raised two daughters, Lauren and Emma. The family is actively involved in community service, volunteering with Coach Kids of Clinton County, Special Olympics of Clinton County, the Rossville Lions Club, and the Rotary Club of Frankfort. They attend Gathering Point Church in Dayton and remain committed to serving others through their faith.

“Service doesn’t stop when the uniform comes off,” Bright said. “Whether through mentoring youth, volunteering in our community, or serving in law enforcement, my goal has always been to give back and lead with integrity.”
