The Boone County Sheriff’s Office has officially welcomed back one its chaplains who began programs to help those seeking to enter a life of recovery upon release from their incarceration.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced that Chaplain Larry Blue has officially rejoined the team after originally serving under Sheriff Campbell and his administration in 2009. According to authorities, Blue boasts an extensive history of experience as a licensed addiction counselor, a chaplain at the Plainfield Correctional Facility as well as being a prison ministry leader. Blue has also gained experience in ministry by becoming a leader at Vertical Church in Plainfield.
Blue served the Boone County community during the early 2000’s, and he started the Celebrate Recovery and Christmas Behind Bars programs in Boone County between 2006 and 2009.
