Boone County Sheriff’s Office Hosts Special Lunch & Learn Regarding Safety Against Fraud

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office hosted a lunch and learn with Boone County seniors citizens yesterday, Thursday, Aug. 8 to inform the community members about the services of the department and the risks associated with scams circulating across the world.

Yesterday, Boone County Sheriff Tony Harris met with senior citizens from across Boone County to enjoy a special lunch and learn session where pamphlets were distributed to all the attendees regarding fraud and identity theft commonly associated with scams that have been reported across the world with heightened frequency over the past few years.

“The event was an excellent opportunity to connect with our valued community members, share a meal and provide up to date information about all that’s happening with the Sheriff’s Office,” Harris released. “We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our residents, and educating our senior citizens is a crucial part of this effort. Thank you to everyone who attended, and stay safe.”

The department stated that community members who would benefit from receiving a pamphlet regarding fraud and identity theft may contact the Administrative Division at the Sheriff’s Office at 317-873-5613.
