Body of Indianapolis Man Recovered From Fall Creek (Marion County)

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a drowning that occurred in Fall Creek in Indianapolis.

Last night at approximately 8:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to Fall Creek near Boy Scout Road, southeast of Fall Creek Road, after a report of a body in the water.

The body of Jeremy Gettys, 38, of Indianapolis, was recovered in approximately three feet of water. Gettys was not wearing a personal flotation device at the time of the incident.

An autopsy has been completed, and the circumstances surrounding how Gettys entered the waterway remain under investigation.

Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted at the scene by the Lawrence Police Department.

Indiana Conservation Officers remind the public to always wear a life jacket when on or near any body of water.
