Billie Jean Nern, 66, of Frankfort, passed away January 4, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was born June 25, 1958 in Lebanon, Indiana to Max E. Neidlinger and Mabel Margaret (Anson) Irvin. She married Timothy F. Nern on December 26, 1981 and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1998.
Jean was a 1976 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. She worked at The Farmers Bank where she was vault supervisor and supervisor of tellers. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #7, was on the Ritual Team with Women of the Moose, where they were past National Ritual Champions, and past Deputy Grand Regent of the Indiana State Moose Association. Jean enjoyed singing, was an avid reader and loved her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her companion of 19 years, Rod Wheeler of Frankfort, sons, Carl Nern of Frankfort, Frank (Matt) Trgovac of Indianapolis, David (Kelsey Eames) Nern of Texas, daughter, Rebecca Nern of Lafayette, sister, Janet Van Meter of Frankfort, brothers, Jerry (Cathie) Neidlinger of Frankfort, James (Rita) Neidlinger of Frankfort, half-sister, Judy Williams of Indianapolis, half-brother, Jake Hughes of Indianapolis, Rod’s children, Janelle Boyd of Crawfordsville and Lance Wheeler of Kirklin, 4 grandchildren, Landon Nern, Charlotte Nern, Oliver Kurtz and Nova Boyd. She is also loved by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, stepmom, Betty Mae Neidlinger, step-brothers, Charles & Dennis VanMeter
Visitation will be 11 a.m. ~ 3 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
