Alisha D. Walters, 42, of Kirklin, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Frankfort, Indiana on August 14, 1980, to Jack and Kathy (O’Brien) Kanatzer. She married her high school sweetheart, Kyle Walters on September 6, 2003; he survives.
Alisha graduated with the class of 1999 from Clinton Central High School. She had worked at the Dairy Queen in Frankfort for several years and then at the Zionsville and Frankfort Community Schools in the cafeteria. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, her fur babies, riding on the Harley, and being around her family and friends. Alisha had served with the Kirk’s Crossing Committee. She will always be remembered for her smile and her shining blue eyes.
Surviving Alisha in addition to her husband, Kyle of Kirklin, are her parents, Jack and Kathy Kanatzer of Frankfort; sons, Kieler and Brody Walters; sisters, Crystal (Kyle Williams) Smith of Frankfort, Karen (Mike) Smith of Lebanon, and twin sister, Trisha (Nick) Smart of Colfax; father and mother-in-law, Danny (Vanetta) Walters of Kirklin; and lots of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Michael O’Brien; paternal grandmothers, Marleen Kanatzer and Bertha Toney; aunt, Sue O’Brien; niece, Ivy Smart; niece, Brianna Walters; and nephew, Riley Henderson.
