DELPHI, IN — The Delphi Police Department will officially welcome its newest four-legged officer during the Delphi Board of Works & Public Safety meeting this evening.
K-9 Remington, known as “Remi,” will be sworn into service alongside his handler, Patrol Officer Clint McLeland, during a ceremony scheduled as part of the meeting. City officials describe the event as a significant milestone for both the police department and the community.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony and witness the official start of Remi’s service to the City of Delphi. The addition of a K-9 officer is expected to enhance the department’s capabilities while strengthening its commitment to public safety.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place during the Board of Works & Public Safety meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Delphi City Building, located at 201 S. Union Street, in the Carolyn K. Pearson Common Council Chambers Meeting Room.
City leaders and members of the police department say they look forward to sharing the special occasion with residents and celebrating the newest member of the force.
The ceremony marks the beginning of Remi’s law enforcement career as he and Officer McLeland prepare to serve and protect the Delphi community together.
