Patricia Ann Ridenour, 75, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2026, at St Vincent Ascension Hospital in Indianapolis surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 8, 1950, in Frankfort to Theone and Betty Jane (Stevenson) Eggers. She was raised in Frankfort and grew up attending St. Matthew United Methodist Church. She later spent time living in Charleston, Illinois before eventually returning home to Frankfort where she remained deeply connected to her family, community, and the life she loved.
On December 15, 1967, she married the love of life, Dan Ridenour. Together they built a life centered around family, compassion, laughter and love. She devoted much of her life caring for others. Over the years she worked at the YMCA, served as a substitute playground attendant at South Side Elementary School and provided home care of the elderly. Her caring nature extended far beyond her work through her involvement with the Red Cross, March of Dimes, and Meals on Wheels. She was generous, charitable, and always willing to help others however she could.
Patti was widely known for her incredible holiday decorating displays and her unmistakable personality. Whether it was themed outfits, festive earrings, Croc charms or decorations covering the house for every holiday, Patti brough joy and excitement everywhere she went. She had a way of making ordinary days feeling special. She also enjoyed vacationing and traveling with her family, especially trips to Las Vegas, one of her favorite places. She had a passioin for slot machines and scratch-off tickets and could often be found trying her luck at local casinos hoping to win big for the people she loved the most. Patti adored her porch cats and pet fish and the simple comforts of home. Her famous sweet tooth couldn’t resist a Pepsi and Fannie May Pixie treats.
But above all things, Patti took the greatest pride in being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren remember her for being the biggest kid of them all. She loved playing cops and robbers, counting cars from the front porch, sharing funny stories, laughing together, and making memories that won’t be forgotten. Patti’s playful spirit, ability to make others smile kind and compassionate heart that made everyone feel welcome as soon as they walked in the door will be remembered and missed by those that knew her. Though her family’s hearts are broken, these memories, traditions, and love she gave so freely will continue to live on for generations to come.
Along with her loving husband, Patti is survived by her children, Missy (Steve), Laurie and Derrek (Allison); her grandchildren, Quentin (Maricela), Kierstin (Derek) Colby, Brinley, and Everly; her sister, Susan Storz; her mother-in-law, Ruby Ridenour; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and new friends.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Teddy, Jim (Joi) and Edward.
