National Overdose Awareness Day Event Kicks Off At Prairie Creek Park Tonight, Aug. 29

Healthy Communities of Clinton County, Trinity Hope Center and Brianna’s Hope are teaming up together for the Overdose Awareness Event set for tonight at Prairie Creek Park to remember and pay tribute to those who have passed of an overdose.

Tonight, Aug. 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., leaders of the recovery resources in the Clinton County community are hosting the National Overdose Awareness Day event at Prairie Creek Park.

During the event, Brianna’s Hope will provide a meal, the Redemption Choir will lead the community in song and community members will share powerful personal stories of tragedy turned hope. As well, a memory wall will be displayed, resources will be available and a Narcan training and distribution will be held.

“We’ll be speaking about our amazing recovery community and resources available to those that are struggling or looking to solidify their recovery with likeminded individuals,” Trinity Hope Director Chris Ward shared.

Attendees have been encouraged to wear purple for the event in observance of National Overdose Awareness Day.
