The Town of Whitestown has announced its Independence Day celebration set for today, Wednesday, July 3 at Eagle Church for the community to enjoy carnival-style food, ice cream, live music and more before a fireworks celebration.
The Whitestown Independence Day celebration is slated for today beginning at 6 p.m. at Eagle Church located at 5801 S. Main St. in Whitestown. Food and inflatables will open at 6 p.m. followed by a live performance from The Indigos from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with a fireworks celebration beginning around 10 p.m. for the community to enjoy.
The town announced that food vendors will be announced as the date draws closer.
Parking on-site is limited, and attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy the fireworks. Personal fireworks, pop-up tents, canopies and alcohol are not permitted during the celebration. In the event of weather concerns, spectators are instructed to return to their vehicles for shelter as no indoor access will be available.
At the conclusion of the fireworks, traffic exiting Eagle Church will be directed south on Main Street, and traffic exiting Boone Meadow and New Hope Boulevard will be directed north on Main Street.
