Clinton Central Superintendent Jeremy Fewell has officially announced his resignation from the Central school system as he pursues a career with Mississinewa Community Schools as its Superintendent.

Fewell announced on Monday that the Mississinewa School Board approved his appointment as Superintendent, and he was officially named as the 9th Superintendent in the 75-year history of the corporation in Grant County.

Fewell stated that he will officially assume the role on July 1 and will be in the district meeting with the staff and community members during the months of April through June.

Upon his resignation from the Clinton Central School Corporation, Fewell released his resignation letter to the community with his appreciation for the community and its support over the past four years.

Fewell’s resignation letter is below:

“It is with mixed emotions that I write to inform everyone that I have accepted a Superintendent’s position at Mississinewa Community Schools and thus I must resign my position as superintendent at Clinton Central School Corporation effective June 30, 2024. I was board approved by the Mississinewa Community School Corporation Board of Trustees on March 18, 2024 with an effective start date for July 1, 2024. It is my intent to remain at CCSC through June 30, 2024 to continue to fulfill my duties as Superintendent at Clinton Central School Corporation. This opportunity is in the best interest of my three boys, Jaxson, Deacon, and Brody, providing them with the chance to be around their grandparents and mother more frequently. This was not an easy decision for me to make, and it has weighed heavily on me recently and will continue to do so. It has been an honor and privilege to serve in this capacity for the past two-plus years, and I am deeply grateful to the School Board for affording me the opportunity to lead such a respected district as Clinton Central School Corporation.

The CCSC school board has been phenomenal to work with for the past two plus years. We have been able to collaborate with many monumental changes during this time and have spent a lot of long nights and many hours together striving to make Clinton Central School Corporation the best school that it can be. I believe that Clinton Central School Corporation is in the best position that it has been in a long time with our top notch staffing, building leadership, student enrollment, facility improvements, student performance, financial positioning, and student programming. This is due to the collective efforts of all seven of our school board members: Bryce Eaton, Travis Robinson, Josh Davison, Katie Cohee, Gina Crenshaw, Kyle Rule, and Amy Mennen. Each of these individuals spends an inordinate amount of time collaborating to provide the best environment for our students and staff. Our school board has been extremely collaborative with me in my role as superintendent, always keeping the best interest of our Bulldogs in mind. I have no doubt that the school board will continue to provide positive support for the next superintendent at CCSC, allowing our Bulldog community to flourish and excel for many years to come.

I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to the entire Bulldog community for the unwavering support extended to me throughout my tenure. The steadfast dedication to the success and welfare of our students has been truly remarkable, and it has been a privilege to collaborate with such dedicated individuals.

I wish to thank the many current and retired superintendents that helped support me in this endeavor as a newly appointed superintendent. Without their assistance, I would not have been as successful as I was able to be in this superintendent role at Clinton Central School Corporation. Most notably I would like to thank Dr. Kent DeKoninck, Mr. Ralph Walker, Dr. Scott Deetz, Dr. Keeley, Dr. Kaiser, and Dr. Jim Hanna. These individuals took the time to mentor me along and help be a resource at any time of day or night. Without their help I could not have imagined doing this job as well as I was able to.

I want to extend my gratitude to the many great educators and staff members at Clinton Central School Corporation for your continued support, hard work, and dedication during my tenure. Thank you to all of the great teachers, administrators, and support staff. My central office team composed of Joni Pearcy, Kristi Coverdale, and April Boone have done and will continue to do great things for the district. Thank you to all of our Bulldog Staff for making my time in Bulldog nation a GREAT experience!

During my tenure at Clinton Central, we have achieved significant milestones together. Through concerted efforts, we successfully passed an operating referendum renewal (the 10th highest pass rate of all time for the state of Indiana) and implemented various academic improvements, upgraded our facilities, recruited highly qualified staff, and enhanced staff compensation and benefit packages. These accomplishments stand as a testament to the community’s steadfast support of our students and staff. Witnessing the positive impact of these enhancements on our students’ learning experiences and overall success has been immensely gratifying. Additionally, I take pride in the notable increase in enrollment over the past two years, underscoring our collective commitment to delivering a superior education.

As I reflect on my time here, I am filled with optimism for the future of Clinton Central School Corporation. I am confident that the dedication and talent within this community will continue to drive the district forward, ensuring sustained growth and success in the years to come. I pledge my ongoing support to whomever the School Board selects as the next superintendent and assure you that I am readily available to provide assistance in any capacity. My foremost desire is to see our Bulldogs flourish in the future endeavors.

While I eagerly anticipate embracing new personal and professional opportunities, I will undoubtedly cherish the relationships I have forged with the school board, exceptional staff, community members, and, above all, our Bulldog students. The memories and experiences shared at Clinton Central will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Thank you, Bulldog Community for your unwavering support and camaraderie. And as always… GO BULLDOGS!!”
