The Frankfort Community Public Library (FCPL) will kick off its 2024 genealogy programs with an Ancestry.com class for beginners. The class will be held in the lower level meeting room at 9:30–11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24.
FCPL’s genealogy manager, Jill Garrison, will talk about the variety of records found on Ancestry as well as discuss the different types of subscriptions available. In addition to covering how to do basic and wildcard searches, she will give participants tips to make their searches more productive. The class will include one hour of classroom instruction and one hour of practical experience.
Participants may bring their own laptops or use the library’s public computers for the practical experience segment of the class. While the class is geared toward beginners, those with experience are welcome as well.
The cost of the class is $2.00. Those wishing to attend can register online at myfcpl.org/calendar, in person, or by calling (765) 654-8746, x. 1137. Registration is required.
