The Frankfort Redevelopment Commission has given the go-ahead to finishing up the sidewalk work in the downtown.
“The sidewalks down Main Street has gotten finished quicker than we expected it to,” said RDC Chairman Joe Palmer. “We were actually looking at budgeting the east side of Main Street down in front of the VFW and Slabby’s BBQ there.”
Palmer added this project is being done ahead of time.
“We actually are going to go ahead and push that project ahead,” said Palmer. “That was supposed to be on next year’s list. So, we will doing the east side of the street at least down to the railroad track.”
Also, Palmer said they are going to be doing a project to help the county.
We’re going to helping them out by setting the bases and laying in the conduit there because they are purchasing some antique lantern lighting,” said Palmer. “Then they will be doing the sidewalks later.”
