2nd Annual Noah And Dane Memorial Golf Outing Swings Off Tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 7 In Rossville

The 2nd Annual Noah and Dane Memorial Golf Outing is set to swing off tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Angel Hill Golf Course at 9980 N. 480 W. in Rossville in honor of the two men who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.

The event will kick off with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, and registration begins at 7 a.m. prior to the scramble. The event will kick off in scramble style with prizes for the first, second and third-place teams.

Teams may register for $250 for a four-person team, and mulligans, with a maximum of four, may be purchased for $10 during the scramble. Raffle prizes will also be available, and lunch will be provided. Teams may be registered through email by contacting Colin Deckard at colindeckard@yahoo.com.

Proceeds from the scramble will support the scholarship fund in honor of Deputy Sheriff Noah Rainer and Jail Deputy Dane Northcutt. The scholarship is awarded annually to a local senior as they aspire toward a career in criminal justice.

Two Carroll County law enforcement personnel attended the Delphi High School graduation ceremony to award the first two Deputy Noah Rainey and Jail Officer Dane Northcutt Scholarships to seniors intending to pursue a career in criminal justice.

Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy Drew Yoder and Delphi Police Sgt. Colin Deckard were joined by Maria Rainey to present Keaghan Lane and Lacoya Wood with the very first two awards of the Deputy Noah Rainey and Jail Officer Dane Northcutt Scholarship.

The scholarship is geared toward supporting graduating seniors who are planning to pursue further education in the Criminal Justice field of study.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Yoder and Sgt. Deckard proposed the scholarship, and recruiting the help and funding needed for the scholarship was achieved through the first gold outing in support of the program.

“Good job gentlemen,” Sheriff Tony Liggett released. “Noah and Dane will never be forgotten. I know they were smiling big this evening.”
