The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that will be in effect from 5 p.m. this afternoon, Wednesday, Feb. 5 through 4 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 6 for the region.
The service stated that the region is likely to experience freezing rain with total ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch in portions of central, east central, north central and west central Indiana.
The service stated that impacts may include roads, especially bridges and overpasses, becoming slick and hazardous with difficult travel conditions being possible. The hazardous conditions may affect the Wednesday evening commute.
The service encouraged drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling and prepare for possible power outages. The latest road conditions for the state may be obtained by calling 5-1-1.
