Nickel & Rye Pub and Eatery Celebrates Grand Opening Monday

Excitement is building in Downtown Frankfort as Nickel & Rye Pub and Eatery prepares to officially open its doors Monday, June 1, on the Frankfort Square in the former Johnny V’s location.

The long-anticipated grand opening promises to be more than just the launch of a new restaurant — it will be a full community celebration complete with live radio, free giveaways, great food, and a chance for residents to experience one of downtown’s newest entertainment destinations.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Cindy Loveless will broadcast LIVE from Nickel & Rye during a special remote on WILO 96.9 FM/1570 AM and Boone 102.7 FM. Community members are invited to stop by, meet the staff, check out the newly renovated space, and take part in fun FREE giveaways throughout the live broadcast.

Owner Brady Martin, a Clinton County native, said Nickel & Rye was designed to be a place where people can gather, relax, enjoy good food, and create memories together. The historic 1880 building has been transformed with updated floors, fresh paint, local murals, and a pub-style atmosphere that blends Frankfort history with modern dining and entertainment.

Guests attending the opening can expect a full menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, wraps, appetizers, steak options, and the restaurant’s signature hand-battered catfish dinner. Upstairs gaming areas with dartboards and pool tables add to the excitement and make Nickel & Rye a unique addition to the downtown scene.

Everyone is invited to attend the celebration Monday, June 1, and be part of an exciting new chapter for downtown Frankfort.
